Leonard Nimoy

Leonard Nimoy. Style victim of the late 60's/early 70's and geek hero. You know what that means: A whole lot of heavy machinery and bad hair. I wonder if he has ever resented that pointy haircut, after having worn it for what seems like most of his life. But one must make sacrifices for posterity! And who doesn't remember good old Leonard Nimoy? (Spock, in case you haven't heard his actual name before.)

Nimoy, who clearly is or at least was a huge hippie, has made five studio albums in his lifetime so far. He's not a terrible singer, though I wouldn't call him amazing. I think his music is mostly a victim of its time and of Star Trek. Then again, I doubt we'd have ever heard him at all were it not for that pointy-eared alien--what was his name again? Even his version of Proud Mary on Youtube is paired with a picture from Star Trek.

Okay, now that I'm listening to it, it is funny enough to be on the blog. Especially his obvious discomfort with slang, such as "rollin'" instead of "rolling." And "boinin'"? As one commenter says, "It appears to be music, but not as we know it."

Mostly because I'm trying to sort through all of the spoken word stuff to the actually songs. Why did anyone ever think that was a good idea?
